Elite Infusion Therapies is a member of the American Society of Ketamine Physicians, Psychotherapists, and Practitioners, ASKP3, which is a non-profit group of professionals dedicated to the safe clinical use of ketamine for mental health disorders and pain conditions. This keeps us up to date on new studies, and advances in the field of ketamine care.
Roughly 30% of people with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) remain depressed despite multiple treatments. About 60% of people with treatment resistant depression are likely to respond to ketamine therapy!
Ketamine works on the body differently compared with traditional medications used for mood and pain disorders! It is classified as a dissociative anesthetic, meaning it temporarily distorts perception. Symptom relief is achieved by the medication working on receptors in the body called N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) and glutamate receptors. Through these mechanisms, ketamine can exert its effects on mood, cognition, and pain perception in the brain and spinal cord to improve mental health and provide pain relief.
For mood disorders, it is required that patient's follow closely with a mental health provider during and after their ketamine treatment. Often providers will increase their sessions with patients during the initiation of ketamine therapy. This is crucial to maximize the benefits of ketamine infusions, but also to process new or emerging memories, emotions, and experiences patients may have during the ketamine infusion therapy. If you do not have a provider, we can help you find one.
IV ketamine infusions are non-FDA approved treatment options (there is an FDA nasal spray). We suspect, FDA approval will change in the future, based on the mounting body of evidence regarding clinical benefit and safety profile.
IV Therapy for Pain Management
Manage Pain with IV Therapy - Get Back to Your Life
Several infusion options are available for those suffering from chronic pain disorders such as fibromyalgia, central sensitization, nerve pain, post-herpetic neuralgia (pain after shingles), headaches, migraines, and more.
A variety of different medications can be used for infusion therapy:
•Lidocaine • Ketamine • Myers Infusion
• Pain Relief Infusion • NAD+ Infusion
IV Lidocaine Infusions
Lidocaine is a medication that has been used for decades in the medical field, with its use being expanded from helping numb the skin before a procedure to help those with pain disorders. Elite Infusion Therapies knows that IV lidocaine infusions can help those suffering from chronic pain. It helps decrease the spread of pain signals and calms damaged nerves that are misfiring. It is also a potent anti-inflammatory, by reducing the number of circulating inflammatory cytokines (small proteins) in the body.
IV Ketamine Infusions
IV Ketamine is useful for mood disorders (see above) and for chronic pain disorders. Ketamine “turns down the volume” on your pain. In chronic pain states there is often an upregulation of receptor, call the NMDA receptor in the brain and spinal cord. Ketamine inhibits this receptor to decrease pain signals and provide pain relief!
Myers Infusion, Pain Relief Infusion, NAD+ Infusion
See our IV Vitamins page to learn more about these infusions. All of these infusions help fight inflammation to relieve chronic inflammatory pain.
